What is the gun culture in America ? Why do Americans own guns ?

The Gun cultural America dates back to the civil war were people were forced to keep a gun at their home for their safety.  The Gun culture in America is so flourished that “Gun Ownership in USA is highest in the world” and moreover there rights of keeping the gun is provided by the Second Amendment of the US Constitution ! Now, if the country's constitution itself provides the rights then no wonder we can say that US is also known as the "Gun Capital of the World ” !
In this blog, we will see why there is so much influence of gun culture in America and why do they basically own guns ? Is it for safety or just a piece of show !

HISTORY OF GUN CULTURE IN AMERICA

Justifying the unique attitude toward gun ownership in the United States, James Madison, "The Father of the US constitution” wrote in Federalist No. 46 “Those who are best acquainted with the last successful resistance of this country against the British arms, will be most inclined to deny the possibility of it.”

The American hunting/sporting passion comes from a time when the United States was an AGRARIAN, subsistence nation where hunting was a PROFESSION for some, an auxiliary source of food for some settlers, and also a deterrence to animal predators. A connection between shooting skills and survival among RURAL American men was in many cases a necessity and a 'rite of passage' for those entering manhood. The militia spirit derives from an early American dependence on arms to protect themselves from foreign armies and hostile Native Americans. Yet, as early as the 1790s, the mandatory universal militia duty gave way to voluntary militia units and a reliance on a regular army. Closely related to the militia tradition was the frontier tradition with the need for a means of self-protection closely associated with the nineteenth century westward expansion and the American frontier.

CURRENT SCENARIO OF USA

Americans now make up 4 percent of the world's population but owns about 46% of the entire global stock of 857 million civilian firearms. Can you believe that ! America also has the third largest population on earth and having guns on their hand represents a dangerous society where no one can easily propose with love rather "GUNS" would have been used for that ! "American civilians own 393 million guns ! And nearly 400 times as many as law enforcement !” Americans bought more than 2 million guns in May 2018, more than twice the total number of arms possessed by law enforcement agencies in the United States combined. In April and May 2018, American civilians bought 135 million guns, 2 million more guns than the combined stockpile of all the world's armed forces. Although historically there have been significant differences in respect to gun ownership between different races and sexes, that gap may be closing but the way the guns are increasing , it's a very serious matter for the American's and the main thing to ask is with so much violence " How will the future American Civilians trust each other " ?

My Conclusion :-

I don't think that the gun culture is going to end in America anytime soon ! I am also amazed to see that much of irregularity in a so called DEVELOPED NATION where people are free to carry guns even without a proper training or license ! Like for eg :- recently Georgia and Texas have also removed a basic permit to carry a gun or license so now their people can actually buy a gun without a license or training and it has become more dreaded that now children can also carry guns without any hesitation ! Can't imagine that future American civilians will have to go through which type period because of today's conditions !
